We are sailing...

Sailing is a sport in which I have been involved for almost eight years. I started when I was six years old at my local sailing club. Now, I prioritise sailing very highly and I commit nearly all of my free time to practising. Sailing is a highly competitive sport and, in some cases, an extreme sport. At the age of nine I was good enough to race competitively at my club in a single handed boat. I soon participated in my first national event in 2008 and came fifteenth, which was a good position to achieve in my first “Nationals”. In February 2010 I moved in to a double hander boat, the RSF eva, with my friend (see photo). We started competing almost straight away and managed to get into the South Eastern Training Squad. This helped us greatly and when we entered the Nationals in 2011 we came third out of one hundred and fifteen boats. We are now in the national squad and hoping to do well at the “Worlds” at Hayling Island this year.
