Year 8 have been participating in activities to do with forensic science. They have been trying to discover who killed a teacher from their school. There were four suspects. All of them were teachers at the school and they were all owed money by the victim. We went round to all of the activities, interviewing some of the pupils and asked what they were doing. Activities included fingerprinting and visiting the crime scene. They learnt about how to retrieve fingerprints using brushes and magnets and also looked at blood and hair samples from the scene. Several pupils were keen to share their views on the day. "Technology Day is
a very good idea because it allows pupils to try their hand at activities that
they would not normally get to try." - Colin Webb (8E) |

Year Eight have been split up into groups to try and solve an investigation. This was a forensic science experience where they tried to solve who killed the school caretaker. The activities they did were fingerprinting and footwear printing, examining hair and blood samples and they got to use all of these in a crime scene at the end. They all really enjoyed the day and learnt quite a lot about crimes. |

Account Hacking
When you put a password into any
site it can be found out and used. This mostly doesn’t happen because of the
security around the sites but it still can. Key loggers are one way for hackers
to find your user names and pass words. They record every key stroke you make
and then the hacker can look at the information and use it to spend your money
with out you knowing.
