Airbus Trip

On 18 June, nine Year 10 pupils, accompanied by Miss Mason, enjoyed a valuable insight into Airbus Defence and Space, a major local, national and international employer in the aerospace sector. The event was part of Airbus'  Wings of Wonder programme, which aims to encourage girls to consider careers in STEM. Year 10s  were able to enter the clean room and watch real satellites in production before being given a workplace task of assembling a part. They also took part in a guided discussion on pathways and overcoming barriers and heard talks from graduates, interns and apprentices working at Airbus. The workplace experience can be mentioned by the girls on future job and college applications.
