STEM Roadshow

On Monday, 27 April, Year 7 and 8 students were treated to an interactive performance by Altru Drama, a company renowned for its educational theatre productions. The event was more than just a show; it was an energizing exploration into the world of materials science and its connections to various cutting-edge technologies.

The performance was led by a talented trio of presenters - Alex, Jody, and Harry - who guided the students through a dynamic and engaging journey. The presentation took the form of a live TV show, capturing the students' attention and making complex scientific concepts accessible and exciting. Through this innovative format, students discovered how everyday materials are integral to advancements in engineering, manufacturing, technology, aerospace, and more.

Throughout the performance, students learned about the crucial role materials play in technological innovation. The presenters demonstrated how the properties of materials are harnessed to create new technologies and improve existing ones. This hands-on approach allowed students to see firsthand the impact of materials science on the world around them.
