Cloud Spotting

Year 7 Geographers are currently studying a topic on weather and climate in the UK. On Thursday, 23 April the lesson was about cloud spotting. Students recalled how clouds are formed based on their prior learning of the water cycle during their rivers topic earlier in the year. They were then introduced to some basic cloud key terms, such as cumulus meaning fluffy and nimbus bringing rain. After some practice in the classroom identifying cloud types we took the learning outside to really bring the lesson to life. Students visited three sites around the school to look at the different weather conditions, cloud types and cloud cover. Well done 7G for some great cloud spotting!
