Mountbatten Centre Careers Experience
As part of our commitment to giving students workplace experience, five Year 9 students attended a careers-focused trip to the Mountbatten Centre on 23 April. The group toured the centre and learned about different roles in the fitness industry, including operations, front of house, lifeguard and fitness instructor. Year 9 students were able to try out different pieces of equipment in the gym, after being inducted, and finished by designing their own fitness routine for a client, as a personal trainer would have to do.
This trip gave students valuable insights into the fitness industry while enhancing their practical knowledge and motivation. These experiences not only enrich their education but also prepare them for future career opportunities.
We are grateful to the Solent Careers Hub and the Mountbatten Centre for offering the group such an interesting and enjoyable opportunity. Thanks also to Miss Matthews for accompanying the trip.
